I expected the media nuts to turn on Trump the moment it was deemed ‘somewhat acceptable’ but no matter how you feel about Trump at this moment—you have to admit that it’s extra despicable to see the very politicians who benefited from the former president, now turn and stick in their knives.
Winsome Sears is just the latest to turn on Trump “A true leader understands when they have become a liability. A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage. And the voters have given us that very clear message,” she said during an interview with FOx News
Winsome was asked about the possibility of a Trump 2024 run and responded to the news that he could announce as early as Tuesday.
Earle-Sears listed a number of policy areas where she thought the Trump administration was due credit — including reducing unemployment levels among Black Americans and signing into law a bill to permanently provide funding for the nation’s historically Black colleges and universities. But when asked how she would respond if Trump announces a reelection bid next week, Earle-Sears responded: “I could not support him. I just couldn’t.”
“We have a clear mission, and it is time to move on,” said Earle-Sears, a former Marine, adding that some of the former president’s endorsed candidates had underperformed Tuesday.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand. And indeed that’s where we are today,” she said.

Sears rose to the office using Trump’s support and her position as the national chairperson for a group that aimed to engage Black voters in the effort to reelect Trump so this is quite the turn.
I know a lot of people that are ready to back Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a presidential race, but even if it is time for Trump to step aside there is something about how the people who benefitted most from the former president are now turning on him that isn’t sitting right with me.
