On Monday’s edition of Morning Joe, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski continued their campaign of defending Joe Biden in connection with his possession of classified documents after leaving the vice-presidency. Biden’s attack dog demands that Attorney General Garland charge Trump but not “The Big Guy”.
Jonathan Lemire lamented “we’re going to try to hear the equivalence between these two moments. Perhaps even, this makes Merrick Garland’s job harder, in terms of bringing a charge against Donald Trump. But these two cases, though similar, Joe, are not the same. Not even close.”
Joe Scarborough took things a step further and virtually instructed Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute Donald Trump, but not Joe Biden. He declared emphatically that “Joe Biden didn’t commit a crime!”
Scarborough also rejected the suggestion that the disclosure of Biden’s possession of classified documents makes Garland’s decision on whether to prosecute Trump any harder. Mika Brzezinski chimed in to curiously claim that, rather than making Garland’s decision on prosecuting Trump harder, the reality is “actually the opposite.”
Scarborough also appeared to take a shot at NewsBusters, saying that conservative media “can lie all they want to people that are . . . reading their blogs.”
It’s clear that the Morning Joe team is determined to support Joe Biden in the face of any accusations or questions about his handling of classified documents after leaving office.
This isn’t the first time Morning Joe has been accused of bias. In the past, they have come under fire for their strong support of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Scarborough and Brzezinski have also been critical of President Trump and his administration, often accusing them of lying and unethical behavior.
In the current case, Morning Joe is doing what it can to exonerate Joe Biden and prevent any charges from being brought against him. While it’s understandable that they want to protect a political ally, it would be more beneficial to the public if they could provide a fair and balanced view of the situation.
It’s easy to see why Morning Joe is so passionate about protecting Joe Biden. After all, he’s a longtime friend of the hosts. Let’s not forget that Scarborough was once a failed politician with a suspicious history with staffers, just like Biden.
It remains to be seen if Attorney General Merrick Garland will take Morning Joe’s advice and not pursue charges against Joe Biden. What is certain is that Morning Joe will continue to vigorously defend their friend, regardless of the outcome.
