We’ve all heard the stories about Michael Cohen, the former lawyer of President Trump. Cohen has been very vocal in his criticism of Trump, and has made numerous appearances on TV and radio shows to share his thoughts and it was just as sideways as you might expect.
Firstly, Cohen pled guilty to eight counts including campaign finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud—The fact that mainstream media outlets dare to drag him on shows how desperate they are to conceal what’s really going on.
In a recent interview with MSNBC’s Katie Phang, Cohen was asked if Chinese spying was a national security threat to the US. His response was that it was “small potatoes” compared to the threat posed by Donald Trump. Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress in 2017, but now he may be telling the truth. His two books, Revenge and Disloyal, indicate that his goal in life is to bring down Donald Trump in retribution for the wrongs he believes Trump to have committed against him.
This makes him an ideal guest for news outlets, and Cohen recently made an appearance on Katie Phang’s show. The conversation eventually veered into the area of Trump’s possession of classified documents. Cohen seemed to downplay the incursion into US airspace by Chinese spies, saying it was just a “weather balloon”.
This caused Katie Phang to ask if Trump was “finally at that point where he’s hitting the panic button”. Cohen responded that Trump had “hit the panic button a while ago” and is “very good at hiding it”, but that in front of the camera he was “calm, cool, and collected, because he’s a sociopath”.
Cohen then said that the real danger to national security was not the Chinese spies, but rather the classified documents in the hands of Trump and his aides. This raised a lot of eyebrows and left many people questioning whether or not Michael Cohen is really a threat to national security.
It’s clear that Cohen has an agenda, and whether or not he is actually a threat to national security is up for debate.
