Recently, Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance visited the site of a train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. His mission? To push for the Biden administration to transport the toxic waste from the site to licensed facilities.

For weeks, the toxic chemicals from the derailment have been contaminating the town, yet the Biden administration has failed to take action to remove it. It’s time for the White House to step up and show leadership, and Vance is doing his part to ensure they do.

Vance traveled to the site of the derailment and posted a video on Twitter of himself standing a safe distance from the mound of waste. In the video, he asked, “Why is this toxic mound of dirt still here in the first place? Thousands and thousands of pounds of it, the reason is because the Biden administration and the EPA is making it harder to get this stuff into licensed facilities where it can be properly disposed of.”

He continued, “I understand some states don’t want to take it, but ultimately you have to get this stuff out of East Palestine, and get it in properly licensed facilities or its going to continue to poison this community. There is no recovery for East Palestine until you get this stuff out of their community. It’s time for the Biden administration to show some leadership and help us get this stuff out of East Palestine.”

Unfortunately, this is just one example of the Biden administration’s slow response to environmental issues. It’s also a reminder of how the media covers up for big money, as the toxic waste site in East Palestine has been largely ignored in the news.

Vance is standing up for East Palestine, and he’s not alone. There are many people who are doing their part to ensure the Biden administration properly addresses environmental issues in towns across the country. We must all work together to hold the White House accountable and ensure the safety of our communities.
