You know the media must have been desperate to drug this one out. As the dust settles on the Durham report, one thing remains abundantly clear: the FBI was wrong — and Peter Strzok knows it.

The results of Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation were damning for the FBI, who used “uncorroborated intelligence” to launch its investigation into Donald Trump ahead of the 2016 election. The FBI’s own response acknowledged “errors” in 2016, proving that the findings of the Durham report were accurate.

But disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok remains defiant, insisting that the Durham report “didn’t come up with anything.” In an interview on MSNBC’s “The Reidout,” Strzok attempted to spin the results of the investigation, pointing to the record of Special Counsel Robert Mueller who convicted several of Trump’s associates.

But Strzok’s attempt to distract from the truth is laughable. His record of two failed prosecutions and one plea presented on a platter by Michael Horowitz speaks for itself.

This is all too predictable coming from Strzok, whose career has been mired in controversy. He was fired in 2018 for texting FBI attorney Lisa Page, his mistress, in which he disparaged then-presidential candidate Donald Trump while he was also investigating alleged collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia.

It’s no surprise that Strzok is trying to downplay the damning results of the Durham report. After all, it vindicates Trump and proves that Strzok’s own actions were politically motivated. His attempt to spin the investigation is nothing more than an effort to save face.

Unfortunately for Strzok, the facts don’t lie. The Durham report is clear: the FBI was wrong. And Peter Strzok knows it.

As Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said in response to the report, “The bottom line is that the FBI went off the rails.”

The findings of the Durham report are a clear reminder of the dangers of politically motivated investigations. The FBI’s actions, in this case, were wrong and must be taken seriously.

We must never forget the lessons we learned from this experience, and strive to ensure that similar situations never happen again.
