As Joe Biden launches his campaign for a second term, many questions are being raised about his mental capacity. After all, the President is 80 years old, and recent polling shows that 70% of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, believe he shouldn’t run again.
When asked about his age and polling numbers at a press conference following a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, Biden said, “You’ve said you can beat Trump again, do you think you’re the only one? … I may not be the only one. But I know him well and I know the danger he presents to our democracy, and we’ve been down this road before.”
But can Joe Biden really “beat” Donald Trump again? After all, he’s 80 years old, and his age is already a major concern for many Americans. Can he really handle the rigors of a presidential campaign?
Not that 80 isn’t an advanced age but Biden’s mental capacity has clearly diminished.
The truth is, Biden’s mental capacity has been declining for years. He’s been known to forget the names of people and places, speak in a garbled manner, and make confusing and contradictory statements.
His memory and cognitive abilities have been a cause of concern for many, especially as he campaigns for a second term.
At the same press conference, Biden said, “When the same polling data asks whether what kind of job I’ve done, it gets overwhelmingly positive results.”
But the truth is, Biden’s job performance has been anything but positive. He’s been criticized for his lack of action on key issues, his sluggish response to the pandemic, and his failure to deliver on his campaign promises.
It’s clear that Joe Biden is not the same man he was four years ago. At 80 years old, his mental capacity has been severely degraded, and his age could be a major factor in his failure to win a second term.
It’s time for the American people to take a hard look at Joe Biden and decide if he is really the man for the job.
