It’s no secret that the Democrats are playing games with the House of Representatives. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has made good on his promise to remove Adam Schiff (D., Calif.) and Eric Swalwell (D., Calif.) from the House Intelligence Committee due to their involvement with the now-debunked Steele dossier. Now, McCarthy is vowing to remove Representative Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over her past anti-Semitic remarks and other controversial comments about Israel.
But it appears that McCarthy’s plan is running into some opposition. Representative Ken Buck (R., Colo.) has said he is opposed to Omar’s removal from the committee. He believes that “we should not engage in this tit for tat,” referencing the Democrats’ decision to strip Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R., Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R., Ariz.) of their committee assignments in 2021.
At least two other Republicans have expressed opposition to Omar’s removal as well — Representatives Victoria Spartz (R., Ind.) and Nancy Mace (R., S.C.) — while others are undecided. Meanwhile, at least three Democrats — Representatives Josh Gottheimer (D., N.Y.), Jared Moskowitz (D., Fla.) and Lois Frankel (D., Fla.) — have yet to make a decision.
Adding to the drama is the fact that freshman congressman George Santos (R., N.Y.) was caught lying about his resume and background after his election, yet he has rebuffed calls to resign and has been given two committee assignments.
Tossing Schiff because he deceived the American people with the bogus Steele Dossier, and Swallwell for his ties to Chinese spies was a no-brainer. What’s the holdup with Omar? She is a proud anti-American who regularly uses anti-Semitic hate speech and rhetoric while pushing her own agendas.
Personally, I believe that she’s a very small step away from being the next Louis Ferrikhan—Would they want him to serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee?
Of course not…
And for the exact same reasons why Omar shouldn’t.
