I think it’s painfully aware that the FBI has been weaponized to target political opponents of the Democratic Party, and the release of 190 pages of documents related to the investigation of Ivana Trump is just the latest example of this.

The documents, obtained by Bloomberg, reveal that the FBI was actively looking into Ivana Trump’s connections to her home country of Czechoslovakia at the time of her emigration from the country in 1972.

The FBI used connections in Canada and Europe to investigate the specifics of Ivana’s emigration, despite the fact that the country was then under communist control.

Ivana left Czechoslovakia by marrying an Austrian ski instructor, who she divorced soon after gaining Austrian citizenship.

She then traveled to the U.S., where she ended up in New York City and met the future president, Donald Trump. The couple married in 1977, and divorced in the late 1980s.

The FBI released only a portion of the 900 pages of documents it had collected on Ivana. The documents show that the FBI’s inquiry focused in part on Ivana’s connections to a man in Czechoslovakia, who allegedly arranged false marriages.

This man was said to have connections to the country’s intelligence community.

The documents also show that FBI agents were aware of Ivana’s visit to her home country in June 1990. During this visit, Ivana had a meeting with Vaclav Havel, the late president of Czechoslovakia, and he reportedly gave her a signed book.

This indicates that the FBI was actively investigating Ivana long after her marriage to Donald Trump had ended.

Ivana Trump passed away in July 2022, and Donald Trump attended her funeral alongside their three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.

It’s outrageous that the FBI was using its resources to investigate a private citizen long after her divorce from the president. Not only is this a waste of taxpayer money, it’s also a gross violation of Ivana’s privacy and civil rights. The use of government institutions to target political opponents is a serious abuse of power, and it’s time for the Democrats to be held accountable for it.
