When CNN hosted a 2024 campaign town hall with former President Donald Trump, they did so with a wave of backlash from the left-leaning media and viewers.
It’s funny because in previous years CNN vowed to never hold a Town Hall with Trump again, but look what just happened. They should have stuck to their guns because this whole mess blew up in their faces in a hilariously ironic way.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took to Twitter to attack the network during the Wednesday night event. She denounced the event and how it was used to spread “election disinformation, defenses of Jan 6th, and a public attack on a sexual abuse victim”.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough called the town hall “disgraceful on every level”. ABC’s The View co-host, Joy Behar, asked if CNN was passing out Kool-Aid before the event started. These comments from the left-leaning media accurately reflect the sentiment of their audience.

The left-leaning sentiment inside CNN is no different. An anonymous on-air personality described the event as “so bad” and “a Trump infomercial”.
"That is not American!"

CNN issued a statement after the town hall defending its decision to host Trump and praising the anchor, Kaitlan Collins. They credited her with “asking tough, fair and revealing questions” and “fact-checking President Trump in real time”.
However, the town hall did more than just “arm voters with crucial information”. It showed the country that Trump is still incredibly popular, and he was able to tell his side of the story after being silenced on many other platforms.
The town hall showed that despite the liberal media’s efforts to discredit him and his supporters, Trump still maintains strong support. His comments were met with applause from the New Hampshire audience, which should be a wakeup call to the left-leaning media.
At the end of the day, Trump was able to express himself freely and without censorship. The town hall was a sign that the liberal media cannot stop Trump’s message from getting out. They can try to silence him, but his supporters will always have his back.
