It’s not just the Border Patrol’s union that is slamming the Biden administration’s press release announcing a “targeted enforcement operation.” Not only is this move a “sad joke,” but it’s also going to aid dangerous illegal immigrants, who are now being warned ahead of time exactly where to run and hide in order to avoid arrest.
He wrote: “Nothing like publicly announcing that dangerous people will be arrested, while warning them ahead of time exactly where to run and hide to avoid arrest. This entire operation is a sad joke – another pandering PR stunt. Serious law enforcement leaders don’t behave this way.”
This is a disaster. The Department of Homeland Security press release said immigration agents will “process individuals for vetting and placement into Title 42 expulsion or Title 8 removal proceedings,” yet they are giving those same individuals a head start. This is an absolute travesty and an insult to the hard-working agents who are trying to keep our borders safe.
The already-high illegal immigration has skyrocketed in the past few months, with the Border Patrol reporting 162,317 migrant encounters in March alone and with “long lines of migrants” amassing in recent days at the border city of Tijuana. This is on top of the surge in El Paso, where the El Paso port of entry has seen “over 26,000 apprehensions and over 7,000 ‘gotaways.'”
Unfortunately, the Biden administration plans to end Title 42, the Trump-era rule that expedites illegal immigrant expulsions, on Thursday at midnight. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has even admitted that ending Title 42 will “strain our workforce, our communities, and our entire system,” yet they are still pushing ahead with this decision.
Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin said the press release is “puzzling,” as it “essentially gives these evaders/gotaways a heads-up that [DHS agents] are coming.” He’s already hearing from “frustrated Border Patrol agents” who say the operation will now be worthless.

It’s clear that the Biden administration is putting our country in danger by tipping off illegal immigrants to enforcement operations. What’s even more concerning is that they are doing so in spite of knowing the consequences. This is an absolute disaster and it needs to be addressed immediately. We cannot allow this reckless behavior to continue.
It’s time for serious law enforcement leaders to step up and do their jobs. We must protect our borders and our citizens from this kind of chaos.
