Anti-Trumper Former Attorney General Bill Barr recently appeared on ABC’s “This Week” to give a rare defense of former President Donald Trump’s case in Manhattan. Despite Trump pleading not guilty to 34 felony charges, Barr stated that the case against him was weak and unjust and a clear abuse of power.

According to Barr, the Manhattan case against Trump is an example of prosecutorial abuse and an attempt to turn the Republican primary process into a “circus”. He noted that the District Attorney’s office, led by Alvin Bragg, failed to provide any evidence of fraud or criminal wrongdoing, calling it a “transparently an abuse of prosecutorial power to accomplish a political end.”

The reality is that this case is not just an attack on Trump, but a blatant attack on justice and our democracy. The Justice Department, which is meant to be impartial, is instead being used as a political tool to target and punish political opponents. This is a dangerous precedent to set and undermines the rule of law.

The Trump saga has been ongoing for years and is a clear example of how our justice system can be abused by powerful political figures.

It’s time for the public to wake up and realize that our justice system is only as strong as we make it. We must demand that our elected officials and law enforcement agencies stay impartial and not use the justice system as a weapon to target political opponents.

We must also be vigilant and speak out against any attempts to politicize the justice system. This is not just a partisan issue, but a matter of justice and protecting our democracy. If we allow our justice system to be corrupted and abused, then we will have allowed our democracy to be undermined and our freedoms to be taken away. We must stand up and fight for justice and our democracy.

The case against Trump has been clearly made to cause turmoil for the GOP during the next presidential elections. It’s so painfully obvious that even a never-Trumper like Barr had to call them on it.
