As the Biden administration prepares for policies that will increase illegal immigration, border cities like El Paso, Texas, are already feeling the strain.
El Paso’s mayor, Democrat Oscar Leeser, declared a state of emergency as the Trump-era expulsion order, Title 42, is set to expire on May 11th. Leeser said, “We’re getting prepared now for what we call the unknown. And the unknown is what will happen after May 11.”
The Biden administration has put forward their own plan to deal with the expected influx of migrants, with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas saying:
“We have been preparing for the transition for more than a year and a half. Notwithstanding those preparations, we do expect that encounters at our southern border will increase as smugglers are seeking to take advantage of this change and already are hard at work spreading disinformation that the border will be open after that.”
Unfortunately, the Biden administration’s plan is already failing, with migrants already believing the false narrative that the border will be open after May 11th. In addition, the number of migrants in the custody of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is already over 4,000.
At a time when the United States is already buckling under inflation and crime, it is clear that the Biden administration’s broken border policies will only further weaken our nation.
It is imperative that something be done to address the surge of illegal immigration, or else the United States will be forced to bear the brunt of the consequences.
The citizens of El Paso and other border cities are already feeling the effects of the influx of migrants and the strain on local services. With the end of Title 42 looming, it is important that something be done to stem the tide of illegal immigration and ensure that the United States is not overwhelmed by the surge.
If the Biden administration truly wants to address the issue of illegal immigration, they need to take steps to secure the border and crack down on those who are exploiting the system. Until then, the United States will continue to suffer the consequences of a broken border policy.
Let’s face it. This administration has no plan on fixing this issue. That’s why it’s crucial that voters get out and vote these guys out of office.
