An 18-year-old from Chicago stands accused of a violent robbery at a sporting goods store while he was on pretrial release with seven prior cases pending, according to officials.

Jaquan Bush, who already had six juvenile cases on his record, was out on bond for an adult charge of possessing a stolen motor vehicle when he entered a Champs store located in the affluent Loop neighborhood of Chicago on September 17, as reported by CWB Chicago.

According to prosecutors, Bush grabbed a Nike jacket from a display rack and made a dash for the exit. The store manager, who believed he recognized Bush from a previous robbery, confronted him, leading to a physical altercation. Allegedly, Bush brandished a knife, made a threatening move towards a female employee, forcibly seized the jacket from her grasp, and fled the scene.

As the police were in the midst of investigating the robbery, Bush found himself facing yet another felony case. He was apprehended for possessing a firearm when law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire and a person shot. The local outlet noted that officers spotted Bush walking down a street with one side of his hoodie appearing weighed down.

Bush tried to evade capture and led officers on a pursuit into his backyard, where they discovered that he had discarded the firearm beneath the porch.

Officers also had to call for backup when Bush’s irate family members surrounded them. It’s important to note that Bush has not been implicated in the shooting reports at this time.

How Barack Obama created stupid people:

Upon his eventual arrest, Judge Mary Marubio once again ordered the teenager to be detained due to violations of his pretrial release conditions in a stolen vehicle case. In the prior incident, Bush had fled from a stolen Kia Optima after police observed him parking it on June 30. Prosecutors stated that he failed to put the car in park before attempting to escape, resulting in a collision with another vehicle, as reported by the outlet.

Remarkably, Bush managed to post just a $500 bail and was released following his hearing on July 1. Notably, during the hearing, prosecutors did not inform Judge Ankur Srivastava about the six pending juvenile cases, a fact now brought to light by CWB Chicago.
