Why do United States Senators and Congressmen, more so why are they, allowed to leave the United States to meddle in foreign affairs when their own states are falling apart?
Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, responded strongly to Russia’s recent warrant for his arrest after he was seeing whoring himself out with Ukraine leadership earlier this week. He challenged Russia to present its case before the International Criminal Court (ICC) instead. My question is “why?” Are things not important enough back in the United States to warrant the attention of a U.S. Senator so that he doesn’t have to travel around the world to get involved in war that most level headed U.S. citizens want absolutely no part of?

Following Graham’s accusation of Russia committing war crimes in Ukraine and his praise for U.S. military aid to Ukraine as a wise investment, Russian officials issued the arrest warrant. These comments were made during a recorded meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In response, Graham declared that he would willingly accept the ICC’s judgment if Russia agreed to do the same.
Graham, like a well shielded trouble maker who has a group of people preventing him from having his ass beaten, stated, “To my Russian ‘friends’ who seek to arrest and prosecute me for condemning the Putin regime’s actions as war crimes, I am willing to submit to the authority of the International Criminal Court if you are. I invite you to present your strongest arguments. Let’s meet in The Hague!” He also expressed his view that the arrest warrant was a matter of pride.
According to U.S. estimates, approximately 42,000 Ukrainian civilians have lost their lives since the invasion began in February 2022. Additionally, Russian forces have suffered 50,000 casualties, with the numbers continuing to rise, and 180,000 have been injured.
The Ukrainian forces have also endured significant losses, with 20,000 soldiers killed in action and 130,000 wounded over the past nearly 15 months. Graham added, “The fact that my support for Ukraine has angered Putin’s regime fills me with great satisfaction. I will stand alongside Ukraine and fight for its freedom until every Russian soldier is expelled from Ukrainian territory.”
This clash between Graham and Putin’s regime coincided with drone attacks targeting both Moscow and Kyiv. Russia has launched numerous missile, drone, and bomb attacks on the Ukrainian capital, with the majority being successfully intercepted. Tuesday’s attack on Moscow marked the first time the Russian capital experienced a similar assault. Residents reported hearing explosions, and the Defense Ministry confirmed that eight drones were used in a “terrorist attack” by the “Kyiv regime.” Five drones were shot down, and the systems of three were disrupted, causing them to deviate from their intended course.
United States leadership needs a massive overhaul and some of these career leach political figures need to be placed on the curb with the rest of the weekend trash.
