Former President Donald Trump announced that the 2024 presidential campaign will be his last, regardless of the outcome. During an interview on the television program Full Measure, Trump confirmed that he has no plans to run for office again in 2028 if he loses the upcoming election. When asked by host Sharyl Attkisson if he would consider a fourth campaign, Trump responded, “No, I don’t… I think that will be it.”
The Lies of the LGBTQ Community
Trump’s political career began with his successful 2016 campaign for president, during which he defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. In 2020, he lost his bid for re-election to Joe Biden. Now, Trump is running for a second term against Vice President Kamala Harris, following Biden’s decision to exit the 2024 race in July.
Biden’s decision came after pressure from fellow Democrats who raised concerns about the president’s age and mental acuity. At the time of the 2024 election, Biden would have been 81, while Trump, who is currently 78, will be one of the oldest presidential candidates in U.S. history.
The question of age has loomed large over the 2024 presidential campaign. Trump has faced scrutiny regarding his age, as has Biden before his exit from the race. Despite this, Trump has repeatedly assured his supporters that he remains physically and mentally fit for the presidency.
Trump’s 2024 campaign is focused on reclaiming the presidency for a second term, as he aims to reverse many of the policies implemented during the Biden administration. Throughout his campaign, Trump has emphasized issues like the economy, border security, and national defense, with the hope of appealing to both his core base and undecided voters.

His opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, was selected by the Democratic Party following Biden’s withdrawal from the race. Harris, who served as vice president since 2021, is the first woman of color to hold the office and is now seeking to make history as the first female president of the United States. Harris’s campaign has focused on continuing the policies of the Biden administration, with an emphasis on social justice, climate change, and healthcare reform.
As the 2024 election nears, Trump and Harris will face off in debates and key battleground states. Trump’s decision to make this his final campaign adds a new level of urgency for his supporters, who see this election as their last chance to see Trump return to the White House.
