President Joe Biden’s administration is shamelessly seeking an additional $14 billion from Congress to facilitate the busing of illegal migrants right up to the U.S. border and onward to hotels scattered across cities and towns all over our nation.
They have the audacity to label this as “border security” when, in reality, a mere pittance of these funds would actually be employed to keep out economic migrants.
Let that sink in: over 300,000 economic migrants were ushered through the U.S. border in the month of September alone.
The total inflow for 2023 has already reached a staggering 2.5 million, and that doesn’t even account for legal migrants and temporary workers.

But here’s the kicker – the bulk of this requested money is earmarked to aid even more job-seeking migrants in making their way to the U.S. border, registering them, releasing them into the country, and then shipping them off to hotels, job training centers, and American workplaces across the United States. This massive request, cunningly concealed within a larger $106 billion proposal, appears to be a calculated move to cover planned migrant assistance through the 2024 presidential campaign by Democrat-run cities. It’s a deceptive flow of cash designed to shield pro-migration groups from the wrath of voters who recognize the enormous costs borne by cities, taxpayers, and ordinary Americans.
The government’s reckless flood of illegal migrants is already displacing hardworking, lower-income Americans from their jobs and housing, all while lining the pockets of employers, real estate moguls, and government agencies. The Washington Post accurately reported:
This request includes more than $6 billion for “border operations,” including $4.4 billion for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and $3.1 billion for additional border patrol agents, asylum officers, and processing personnel. It also requests $1.4 billion for state and local governments to aid in sheltering and providing services to migrants.

In response, Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) rightly declares, “Giving the Biden Admin more money to fuel its disastrous open-borders resettlement operation is insanity. It would worsen the border crisis, not stop it.”
The funding on the table offers zero genuine border security while racking up debt, as succinctly pointed out by Representative Chip Roy (R-TX). In August, we exposed the White House’s request for $4 billion under the guise of “border security,” a portion of which was allocated to establish new migrant pathways into U.S. communities. These “Safe Mobility Offices” aimed to facilitate the illegal entry of economic migrants from Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Ecuador, ultimately distorting the nation’s economy and favoring Wall Street and coastal states.
Furthermore, the request sneaks in an extra $714 million for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency initially created to deport illegal migrants. Yet, it also seeks to divert funds within the agency to finance housing programs for migrants. This program would not only shelter migrants as they take American jobs to pay off their smuggling debts but also provide them with free legal advice on how to circumvent immigration rules designed to protect American citizens.

Additionally, it requests an extra $600 million for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a key player in the transport networks and shelters used by migrants, thereby displacing local workers in cities like New York and Chicago.
This unconscionable policy is a form of Extraction Migration, exploiting vulnerable countries, undercutting trade, and employing imported labor to benefit Wall Street and the economy. It depresses American wages, inflates rents and housing costs, and uproots hardworking Americans from their livelihoods, all while contributing to the rising death rate among the country’s poorest citizens.
This detrimental policy also siphons jobs and wealth from heartland states, enriching coastal investors with an influx of low-wage workers, high-density renters, and government-subsidized consumers.
Moreover, it erodes the political influence of native-born Americans by enabling elites and the establishment to detach themselves from the concerns of everyday citizens. Migration, particularly labor migration, is deeply unpopular among swing voters. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 54 percent of Americans believe that immigration under President Joe Biden has made life harder for all Americans. The majority of independents, 57 percent, shared this sentiment, while only 17 percent of all adults “strongly” disagreed. It’s a harsh reality, and it’s time for action.
