On Saturday, former President Donald Trump, a leading candidate for the 2024 presidential election, secured a resounding victory in the Colorado Republican 2023 Centennial Dinner Presidential Straw Poll.

Trump claimed the top spot with a commanding 87 percent of the vote, leaving Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in a distant second place with just six percent.

The Centennial Dinner featured prominent figures like Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake (R-AZ) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) as headliners.

Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dave Williams stated, “Colorado Republicans have made it abundantly clear that President Trump is the frontrunner and the candidate to beat. The Party extends its congratulations to President Trump and eagerly anticipates the grassroots, America-First enthusiasm he will bring to our base as we approach 2024.”

Among the attendees was congressional candidate Trent Leisy, running for the America First movement in the district currently represented by Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), who has chosen not to seek re-election in 2024 under the leadership of President Trump. Leisy, sporting a “MAGA King” hat, was frequently seen engaging with event-goers and taking photos.

In an exclusive interview, Leisy stated, “This is no anomaly for President Trump. Trump consistently dominates every legitimate poll by a landslide.”

He added, “I announced my campaign against RINO Ken Buck last month because he has not only let down the people of Colorado’s 4th Congressional District but has also betrayed President Trump and the America First movement.”

The cost of criticism: Is President Trump beyond reproach?

“I am vying to be another advocate in Congress for the rightful President Trump, always prioritizing America First,” Leisy affirmed.

Leisy, a Navy Veteran and small business owner in the agriculture sector, is running in a strongly Republican district and believes that a Trump endorsement would lead to a “landslide victory.”

Following Buck’s announcement of retirement, President Trump used his popular social media platform, Truth Social, to comment, “Good news for the Country! Congressman Ken Buck of Colorado, a weak and ineffective Super RINO if there ever was one, announced today that he won’t be running again, which is a great thing for the Republican Party.”

Trump continued, “He knew long ago he could never win against MAGA, so now he is, like some past and present, auditioning for a job at Fake News CNN, MSDNC, or some other Country-destroying Leftwing Outlet. They can have him, and watch their Ratings go down still further, if that’s even possible.”
