In a shocking revelation, IRS supervisory agent Gary Shapley unleashed a wave of outrage as he informed Congress that the FBI had indeed “verified” the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop back in November 2019.
Astonishingly, a federal computer expert confirmed that the laptop had not been manipulated in any way. However, despite these damning findings, investigators looking into tax fraud and other crimes linked to President Biden’s son were denied complete access to the laptop’s contents.
Shapley’s deposition before the House Ways and Means Committee on May 26 shed light on the infuriating details. He disclosed that the discussion revolved around the reliability of the laptop’s information and its connection to Hunter Biden. Astonishingly, the experts’ unequivocal opinion was that the laptop belonged to Hunter Biden and had remained unaltered.
Furthermore, Shapley confirmed the crucial timeline of events regarding the laptop. It was in October 2019 that the FBI first became aware of its existence through a repair shop, suspecting that it might contain evidence of a crime.
The laptop’s authenticity was officially verified by November 2019 by matching its device number with Hunter Biden’s Apple iCloud ID. Shockingly, the laptop’s contents implicated Joe Biden in his son’s dubious dealings, including those involving China and Ukraine, contradicting his public denial of any business discussions with Hunter or James Biden.
Despite this internal corroboration within the FBI, 51 former US intelligence agency leaders disgracefully dismissed the laptop’s significance as a “Russian information operation” in a pre-election letter. Most news outlets conveniently ignored its contents until well after Biden’s election victory in 2020.
Only in March 2022 did the Washington Post and New York Times finally confirm the authenticity of the files. Behind the scenes, Shapley revealed that when the FBI took possession of the laptop in December 2019, they promptly notified the IRS of potential evidence related to tax crimes.
Shapley, overseeing a team that investigated Hunter Biden’s financial misconduct, disclosed that the case reached a resolution on Tuesday through a plea deal that involved probation only.
Shockingly, despite the investigators’ attempts to recommend felony charges, Shapley and another IRS whistleblower confirmed that the plea deal still awaits approval from a judge.
The deeply concerning series of events becomes even more alarming as Shapley’s email to Delaware Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf on October 19, 2020, coincided with the dissemination of the dubious “spies who lie” letter to Politico.
In the email, Shapley insisted on being informed about the FBI’s actions concerning the laptop, emphasizing the IRS’s responsibility to stay informed. Three days later, a meeting took place between the prosecution team and the FBI’s computer analysis team to discuss Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Astonishingly, objections were raised once again about the lack of access to the laptop’s contents. Special Agent [redacted] expressed frustration over not being provided with the complete data, and AUSA Lesley Wolf shockingly admitted that prosecutors deliberately withheld the information from the investigators for various reasons, an unprecedented decision according to Shapley.
Another IRS whistleblower, involved in the case since its inception in 2018, confirmed that some documents were reviewed, but Shapley emphasized that a comprehensive review was never conducted, largely due to a flawed “filter” process that withheld communications on grounds of attorney-client privilege or other reasons.
The obstructive behavior continued as investigators were discouraged from examining press reports about the laptop, ensuring they only accessed so-called “verified” information.
Shapley revealed that certain emails were withheld, citing privilege due to Hunter’s attorney, George Mesires, being cc-ed. Astoundingly, a significant amount of information was deemed privileged, leading to its exclusion from scrutiny.
This shocking testimony exposes the FBI’s outrageous mishandling of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
