On Tuesday morning, House Oversight Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken demanding that he provide information as to why then-Vice President Joe Biden shifted his policy on Ukraine after he bragged about getting Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma, fired.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the FBI informant memo, FD-1023, which was released earlier this summer alleges that Burisma executives paid $5 million each to Joe and Hunter Biden in exchange for the firing of Shokin, who was investigating Burisma for corruption at the time.

Following the meeting in which that deal was arranged, Shokin was fired from his post after Biden threatened to withhold a billion-dollar loan from the country.
On December 4, 2015, Hunter Biden “called D.C.” in a private meeting with Bursima executives Zlochevsky and Pozharsky in Dubai.
A refresher on the timeline of events leading up to the firing of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin:
April 2014: Hunter Biden joined Burisma and was paid approximately $1,000,000 per year.

Biden would also brag about this to the Council on Foreign Relations in January 2018.
In response to this, Rep. Comer is demanding answers from the Biden administration as to why Biden altered his Ukraine policy.
“In 2018, Joe Biden publicly boasted about his central role in having Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired,” the House Oversight Committee wrote in a statement on the X App.
“By his own admission, Joe Biden said he made the removal of Prosecutor General Shokin – the man leading the investigation into Burisma, Hunter’s cash cow – a condition for Ukraine to receive a critical $1 billion loan guarantee,” the committee continues.
“[Rep. James Comer] is requesting Secretary of State Antony Blinken to provide information on then-Vice President Biden’s sudden shift on Ukraine policy that just so happens to coincide with Hunter’s business interests,” the committee’s statement reads.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Fox News reported that Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) will be launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden following a meeting of the Republican conference on Thursday.
While at the meeting, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. James Comer (R-KY) will unveil the full evidence that they have uncovered showing President Biden’s corruption with his son Hunter.
