In a desperate attempt to remain relevant, the Biden campaign has launched an over-the-top media blitz ahead of the first 2024 presidential debate. With President Biden tucked away in Camp David for “preparation,” his team is scrambling to saturate battleground states with over 1,600 events and a slew of advertisements. They’re painting Trump as a menace to reproductive rights, the middle-class economy, and democracy itself. On debate night, expect over 300 watch parties and a bombardment of ads, all to prop up Biden for his 90-minute face-off against Trump on CNN.

Get ready, America! President Biden, who apparently needs a week at Camp David to prepare for a debate, is about to be all over your screens and social feeds. As the first 2024 presidential debate looms, the Biden-Harris camp is pulling out all the stops with a gaudy media blitz. Picture this: over 1,600 events, community gatherings, training sessions, and canvassing in battleground states, all choreographed to rally support. And just in case you miss the memo, there will be more than 300 debate watch parties on Thursday night.

It’s as if they believe bombarding the public with ads and events will somehow mask Biden’s inability to face his opponent without a week of seclusion. The campaign’s new ads are laughably focused on portraying Trump as a threat to reproductive rights, middle-class economics, and democracy. Yes, the same democracy where Biden can’t even step into the ring without a mountain of pre-packaged talking points.

Meanwhile, Biden’s been whisked away to Camp David. Why? To memorize his lines, perhaps? It’s amusing to watch the lengths to which the Biden team will go to shield him from spontaneous interaction. When he does finally emerge from his retreat, he’ll face Trump in a 90-minute debate on CNN, hosted by Dana Bash and Jake Tapper. With no live audience, it will be just Biden, Trump, and the moderators—a setup presumably designed to prevent any unscripted moments.

One can’t help but marvel at the irony: a president who campaigned on being “for the people” now needs layers of media events and a secluded prep week to debate. The Biden campaign’s frenzied efforts to control the narrative scream insecurity. If their candidate were truly confident and competent, would they really need this extravagant pre-debate spectacle?

Deport all anchor babies now!

So, buckle up for the spectacle of President Biden’s media blitz. Expect your screens to be flooded with ads, your streets with campaign events, and your social feeds with overblown rhetoric. And as Biden prepares to confront Trump, one has to wonder: is all this hoopla an indication of a robust campaign, or a sign of deep-seated fear?
