Shocking Twist: Biden Stuns Audience by Concluding Gun Control Speech with ‘God Save the Queen’

In a surprising turn of events, President Biden left attendees bewildered when he unexpectedly ended his speech on gun control with the phrase, “God save the Queen, man.” The incident took place at the University of Hartford’s campus in Connecticut, leaving journalists and onlookers questioning the reasoning behind his peculiar signoff.

Reporters present in the room, including Todd Gillman from the Dallas Morning News, expressed their confusion over the president’s statement. Gillman shared in a pool report, “Several of you have asked me why he might have said that. I have no idea. Other poolers likewise have no idea.”

Deputy White House press secretary Olivia Dalton later addressed the incident, stating that Biden was “commenting to someone in the crowd,” but without providing further clarification.

The phrase “God Save the Queen” holds historical significance as the British national anthem during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, which spanned 70 years. However, her passing in September resulted in the succession of her son, Charles III, and a return to the anthem and royalist motto of “God Save the King.”

This puzzling remark follows a previous incident last September when Biden inquired about the whereabouts of the late Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.), despite having publicly mourned her passing and even contacting her family to offer condolences a month earlier.

The president’s mental acuity was called into question at that time, and press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended his actions by suggesting that Walorski was “top of mind” for Biden.

During Friday’s speech, Biden focused on advocating for new legislation to ban AR-15-style semiautomatic rifles and high-capacity magazines, as well as holding gun owners accountable for the secure storage of their firearms.

He used an analogy involving stolen cars and liability, stating that if someone’s unlocked car was taken by a teenager who caused harm, the owner would be held responsible.

However, the Claims Journal, which specializes in insurance matters, points out that the majority common law rule among states does not hold owners liable for damages caused by stolen vehicles involved in accidents.

While some states and cities have laws that impose liability on owners for leaving keys in an unlocked vehicle, the circumstances surrounding such cases typically determine the owner’s responsibility, according to the journal.

The president’s unexpected conclusion to the gun control speech, combined with the perplexing nature of his earlier remark, has sparked further scrutiny and raised questions about Biden’s statements and mental acuity.
