Police officers were captured on video beating a suspect who was lying in the parking lot of a California McDonald’s using a large nightstick, while horrified bystanders pleaded for them to stop.
The incident unfolded following an altercation between a McFarland police officer and customers inside the restaurant, escalating into a chase outside.

In the footage, a police officer, armed with a chest-strapped rifle, engaged in a verbal dispute with a male customer, who repeatedly questioned the officer’s actions. The video did not clarify the nature of the argument between the man and a woman standing beside him.

Upon exiting the McDonald’s, the couple was pursued by the officer, with patrons inside the restaurant reacting with laughter and capturing the unfolding scene on their phones.
Outside, four additional unnamed police officers arrived and began beating the male customer with sticks while restraining the female on the ground.
An officer pushed the female to the ground when she attempted to approach the restrained man. Another officer held her down when she tried to sit up. A female officer joined in to assist in restraining the male customer, who continued to squirm as officers beat him with sticks.
The person recording the video criticized the officers for their aggressive restraint, shouting that the male customer was not resisting.
