It’s no secret that the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has been steadily pushing its own political agenda over the last several years.
This biased agenda has increasingly brazenly played out in the form of a “travel advisory” issued by the organization in July 2020 for Florida, warning black people to stay away due to the state’s alleged “openly hostile” policies.
But a closer look at the facts reveals that the NAACP’s travel advisory is nothing more than a thinly veiled political ploy, far removed from reality.
First of all, the data runs contrary to the narrative presented by the NAACP’s Florida travel advisory. A Washington Free Beacon analysis shows that black Floridians enjoy lower unemployment, higher median incomes, and lower rates of both hate crimes and police killings than their counterparts in other states.
Not only that, but exit polls from the 2020 gubernatorial race showed that 13 percent of black Floridians supported the incumbent, Governor Ron DeSantis.
When Derrick Johnson, the president of the NAACP, was asked on CNN about this information, his reply was nothing more than a reframing of the data as “propaganda language” and an attack on exit polls as “wrong and misleading.”
He even went so far as to call the numbers “misleading and wrong”, which is a contemptible accusation given the fact-based evidence to the contrary.
The true purpose of the NAACP’s “travel advisory” for Florida is to use the platform of the organization to push its own political agenda and rally support for certain causes.
It’s a type of political propagandizing with the purpose of influencing public opinion, and it’s an example of political corruption that needs to be stamped out.
The notion of using facts and figures to support a specific political agenda is dangerous and threatens to harm America’s core values. We need to return to traditional America, where facts are prioritized and people responsibly inform themselves about the truth of the situation. We need to stand up for these core American values in order to protect our democracy.
The NAACP’s “travel advisory” should be seen for what it truly is, and the organization should be held accountable for its political corruption.
