It’s clear that Democrats are trying to take away the rights of law-abiding citizens to own firearms, and it’s even more apparent that they feel they’re above the rules of decorum.
Recently, Democratic state lawmaker Gloria Johnson of Tennessee appeared on CNN with host Don Lemon. Johnson, who was part of a mob that recently occupied the Tennessee state Capitol, claimed that Republicans were “attacking” democracy in the legislatures of red states.
It’s ironic how Johnson can make such accusations when she was part of a mob that broke into the Capitol and acted in an unlawful way. It’s also ironic that she can make such accusations when her Democratic peers, Jones and Pearson, were expelled from the House of Representatives for their actions.
It’s also a little suspect that Lemon would make this entire conversation about skin color. He asks Johnson to comment on Republican efforts to “attack” democracy while completely ignoring the actions of her and her colleagues. This sort of racial divide has become all too common in the mainstream media, and it’s wrong to ignore the facts in order to push a narrative.
The gun control debate has become a heated one in the United States, and it’s clear that the Democrats are pushing for more restrictions on firearms. However, it’s important to remember that the Second Amendment was put in place to protect the people and their rights. It’s not meant to be taken away from law-abiding citizens.
It’s also important to remember that there are rules of decorum that all lawmakers should adhere to, regardless of their political affiliation. Johnson and her Democratic peers should not be exempt from the rules of decorum, and they should face the same consequences as their Republican colleagues.
Democracy only works when all voices are heard, and when everyone follows the same rules. We should all strive to be better and more understanding of each other, regardless of our political beliefs. We should also remember that the Second Amendment was put in place to protect us, and that it should not be taken away from law-abiding citizens.
