A large police presence gathered outside of Chicago’s Trump International Hotel and Tower Wednesday afternoon due to a domestic disturbance in the building, autorities said.
Chicago police say that they are responding to a domestic-related incident at the building, and at this time believe that it is an “isolated incident,” with no ongoing threat to the public at this time. It is reported that SWAT officials responded to reports of a woman entering the building while brandishing a rifle.
According to Total Traffic, that police presence is centered around the entrance to the building near Kinzie Street and Wabash Avenue, with SWAT officers on the scene.
Wabash Avenue is closed in both directions between Wacker Drive and Hubbard Street because of the ongoing incident, according to Total Traffic and Chicago police.
We will update this story with details as they are released.
