Since Donald Trump left office, the Democrats have been hell-bent on getting him arrested and prosecuted. But the media’s coverage of the indictment shows just how far the Left will go to weaponize the justice system to target their political enemies.
On Tuesday, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough had a meltdown on-air over the coverage of Trump’s indictment. He said that the media was giving the former president “40 to 50 million of earned media” by showing footage of him landing at LaGuardia Airport for what seemed like 20 minutes. He was also angry that the networks were covering “things we already know” and that even Trump supporters were laughing at the legacy media for its over-the-top coverage.
“They all looked at me and said, ‘Didn’t you guys learn anything from 2016,'” he said. “It was just outrageous.”
But Scarborough’s real concern seems to be that the media will look foolish when the case against Trump inevitably fails. After all, Democrats have a long history of trying to prosecute their political enemies, only to have the charges eventually dropped. We saw it with the Mueller investigation and now we’re seeing it with the indictment.
And it’s not just Scarborough who is raising questions about the media’s coverage. Many conservatives have been pointing out the clear bias in the coverage of the indictment, noting how it’s being treated as a slam-dunk case by the media, while the facts of the case are still in dispute.
It’s clear that the media has been weaponizing the justice system to go after Trump and the Democrats have been using the media to do their dirty work. But the truth is that this is all just a political show and the case against Trump will ultimately fail. The only question is how much of our time and money will have been wasted on this charade by then.
I think my favorite part of this segment was watching Scarborough complain about Trump’s media coverage while Mika chimed in, “Biden was traveling too” as if that’s where the interest is.
