After being released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center this week following treatment for depression, Democratic Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman was welcomed with open arms by liberal CBS Sunday Morning anchor Jane Pauley.
Despite there being plenty of substantive topics to discuss, Pauley opted for the most syrupy topics and open-ended questions possible. It was a complete puffball interview, with Pauley gushing all over Fetterman and even suggesting that the brain-damaged Senator could run for President.
I honestly thought this was a joke at first.
The segment began with Pauley proclaiming Fetterman to be “hopeful, optimistic, ready to return to the United States Senate and his role as a dad.”
She then drew attention to his blue-collar roots and proclaimed him to be a “darling of the fashion world.” Despite his wife reportedly stating that his style was “appalling,” Pauley chose to focus on Fetterman’s fashion choices as well as his “modern look” and even noting that he was one of The New York Times’ “most stylish people of 2022.”
After an in-depth discussion about Fetterman’s mental health treatment and his years-long battle with depression, Pauley thought it would be a good time to subtly push him to run for President.
She asked him if he could “serve beyond the United States Senate,” to which he wisely responded that his aspiration was to be “the kind of dad, the kind of husband, and the kind of Senator that Pennsylvania deserves.”
This softball interview was not only embarrassing, but it was also a desperate attempt by the liberal media to prop up a weakened Democratic candidate.
It’s clear that the Democrats and the liberal media are so desperate to find a candidate to run against President Trump in 2024 that they are willing to look past Fetterman’s obvious physical and mental health issues.
They are so desperate to find a “rising political star” that they are willing to overlook the fact that Fetterman can barely speak and needs to read closed captioning to understand what people say to him.
It’s no surprise that liberal media outlets are willing to overlook Fetterman’s issues in order to push their agenda. After all, it was only a few months ago that CNN host Don Lemon said that former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley was “past her prime” at age 51. Clearly, the liberal media has a double standard when it comes to assessing the qualifications of different candidates.
It’s clear that the liberal media and Democrats are willing to go to great lengths to find a candidate to run against President Trump, even if it means overlooking the obvious health issues of a 53-year-old stroke victim. It’s good to be a Democrat.
