As the PBS NewsHour continues to blame the right for the Antifa violence in Portland, it’s clear that they are using the word “extremism” to describe only conservatives, while ignoring the real drivers of political violence.

Liberal White House Correspondent Laura Barron-Lopez and her two guests Monday condemned substantive conservative policy and philosophy as racist and violent. She asked Barbara F. Walter, a professor at U.C. San Diego and expert in violent extremism, about Trump’s rally in Waco, and Walter argued that “this is the 30-year anniversary of the big siege that happened there, which, for many in the far right, especially those groups that are anti-federal government, they see this as the perfect example of government overreach, everything that’s wrong with the federal government…”

Adrienne LaFrance, the executive editor of The Atlantic, even tried to make a victim out of the Antifa thugs in Portland by suggesting that right-wing extremists had “drawn” them into violence.

I don’t know what planet these folks are from but Antifa came for violence. The organization started out waging street wars on conservatives and it’s only gotten worse from there.

But the real drivers of political violence are the increasingly radical left-wing policies being pushed by Democrats and their woke, intolerant ideologies. It’s become clear that Democrats, and those aligned with them, are willing to use the justice system to further their own political agenda, and to silence and punish their opponents.

Rather than looking at the facts and recognizing that it’s the radical left-wing ideology that is driving the political violence, Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media continue to blame the far right for the chaos and destruction.

Are their violent conservatives? Absolutely, but when it comes to political targeting, the left takes the lead.

I detest violence. I would rather push people to exercise their right to vote and become vocal members of their communities. I think most conservatives think the same way.
