On-air meltdowns, berating his co-hosts, and a fragile mental state – Don Lemon’s behavior has been nothing short of outrageous in recent weeks. It seems like the CNN anchor is on the brink of a nervous breakdown.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently mocked Lemon’s antics, saying “We kind of admire Don Lemon. How can a man so obviously limited have such boundless self-esteem?” It’s a valid question – has Lemon become so wrapped up in his own ego that he’s on the brink of a nervous breakdown?
It certainly seems like it. Lemon has been seen having a series of on-air meltdowns, such as in this recent clip where he was discussing the issue of “election deniers”:
KAITLAN COLLINS: Thank you for taking time to join us.
REP. JAMES COMER: Thanks for having me.
DON LEMON: Alright, thank you. That’s going to be it. That’s the time that we’re in where facts are sort of flexible and—
POPPY HARLOW: That’s why we have Kaitlan Collins on the hill. Fact-checking in real-time. It was a great interview.
LEMON: Citing uncredible sources, like citing The New York Post as a credible source and saying that facts are–it’s–I can’t believe that we’re here.
HARLOW: Kaitlan that was a great interview. All right. Moving on.
LEMON: Anyway, not moving on because, listen, that’s a big issue when it comes — hold on, please, with the music. That’s a big issue when it comes to the American people. The American people are going to have to suffer through all of this stuff from election deniers to people who don’t believe in facts, we don’t have a shared reality and now it’s taking center stage too, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
It appears that Lemon is unable to control his emotions in public, and his ego has taken over. It almost seems as if he’s trying to make himself the center of attention. Could this be a sign of a nervous breakdown?
Lemon’s behavior is concerning, to say the least. He’s on thin ice with the network and was publicly demoted from his primetime solo spot to daytime TV with his new co-hosts. It’s very clearly not working out as this is just the latest example of Lemon souring the relationship between himself and fellow co-hosts.
I’m almost willing to bet that Lemon will be out of a job soon. Maybe he can call his old pay Chris Cuomo and beg for a job with him—Oh, wait… Did he turn on that guy during his own scandal to keep his primetime job?
