The 118th Congress is finally here, and it’s bringing big changes. This marks an important victory for the GOP as they seek to restore power back to the people. The first move of this new majority was to remove metal detectors that Nancy Pelosi had installed two years ago. It was an Orwellington-type hold over Americans that needed to go.

Representative Lauren Boebert shared a video on social media showing these metal detectors being removed once and for all with her saying “We’re turning Pelosi’s House back into the People’s House.” This is part of a larger effort by Republican lawmakers who are working hard to ensure American citizens have freedom of choice, rather than having their decisions made for them by Democrats who reflect “soft on crime” policies and “woke ideology.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently emphasized his commitment to backing law enforcement during his second inaugural address on Tuesday, contrasting his governing philosophy with that of Democrat-run cities and states. He characterized Florida as a “promised land of sanity,” noting its status as the fastest-growing state in America due largely in part because of their stance on these issues.

Change is coming quickly as Republicans take charge in Washington DC. By uninstalling Nancy Pelosi’s metal detectors, they’re signaling an end to Big Brother tactics – now it’s up to us all to make sure we stand up against oppressive ideologies so we can continue living freely under our Constitutionally protected rights.

Watch

The detectors, which were not aimed at protecting members of Congress from the public, were part of the left’s attempts to tie the GOP to January 6th. Top Democrats and the media worked hard to sew this narrative that the GOP worked alongside people who entered the Capitol on that day—Despite the fact that they were in equal danger of potential attacks.

That narrative only pushed to further polarize the two parties and it’s time to see some real change and actual unity from our lawmakers.
