In a blatant display of partisan maneuvering, over 700 former high-ranking national security officials have come forward to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in her White House run. Among these are 15 four-star generals and 10 former Cabinet secretaries, but it’s important to remember—just because they held these titles doesn’t mean they have America’s best interests in mind today.
This letter, spearheaded by retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Michael Smith, is yet another attempt by the Washington establishment to paint Trump as a danger to democracy, calling him “impulsive” and touting Harris as the more “diplomatic” option. Let’s not forget, these same officials were the ones who stood by while the Obama-Biden administration weakened America’s military presence on the world stage, allowing adversaries like China, Russia, and North Korea to grow bolder.

Smith’s comments claim that Harris is “prepared” and “strategic.” However, Harris’s track record in foreign policy speaks otherwise. During her tenure as vice president, Harris has done little to assert America’s dominance globally. In fact, her diplomatic efforts, or lack thereof, have allowed countries like China and Iran to continue their aggressive behavior unchecked.
The letter’s attempt to label Trump as a dangerous authoritarian is laughable. Under Trump’s administration, America regained respect internationally and restored its military might. Trump didn’t bow to international pressure from foreign adversaries. His decisive actions, such as withdrawing from the disastrous Iran nuclear deal and standing firm against Chinese economic aggression, show the exact opposite of the “impulsiveness” these former officials claim. Trump’s leadership was bold, focused, and always in the interest of America first.
The letter praises Harris for her supposed “diplomacy,” yet where was this diplomacy during the border crisis under the Biden administration? Her inability to even visit the border until pressured reveals the incompetence and lack of leadership that would carry over to her presidency. In contrast, Trump dealt with the border crisis head-on, building the wall and cutting illegal immigration dramatically.

The real issue here is that these 700-plus officials represent the tired, old political establishment that was uncomfortable with Trump shaking up the system. Trump stood up to foreign adversaries and refused to allow the D.C. elite to play their usual games with America’s future. Their endorsement of Harris is simply an endorsement of the status quo—endless bureaucracy and weak foreign policy.
The letter’s claim that endorsing Harris is an act of patriotism is nothing more than a smokescreen to push a failed globalist agenda. Trump, on the other hand, restored American patriotism by putting America first—be it through renegotiating unfair trade deals, demanding NATO allies pay their fair share, or bringing back American manufacturing jobs.
It’s also worth noting that many of these officials have been critical of Trump since day one. Their so-called concerns about Trump’s “scary authoritarian streak” are nothing more than recycled talking points from the left. They forget that it was Trump who championed freedom by cutting unnecessary regulations and reducing the size of government. Harris, meanwhile, supports policies that would expand government control over every aspect of our lives, from healthcare to energy to education.
The timing of this letter, coming just after a similar endorsement from over 100 former GOP national security figures, shows that the D.C. elite are doubling down on their efforts to undermine Trump’s legacy. But the American people are not easily fooled. They know that Trump’s policies made the country stronger and safer, while Harris represents a continuation of the weak, ineffective leadership that has emboldened our enemies.
At the end of the day, this endorsement is not about national security or patriotism. It’s about maintaining the political status quo that Trump disrupted. The American people deserve a leader who will fight for them, not one who kowtows to globalist elites and international adversaries. Kamala Harris may have the endorsement of these so-called experts, but Donald Trump has the endorsement of the American people—those who want a strong, free, and prosperous nation.
